About Colorgruppen
Colorgruppen A/S is founded in 1977 by Carsten Frederiksen and Hanne Segtwin.
It starts out as a small photographic company, who handles everything from photographic enlargements to negative development. In the beginning, and many years ahead, Colorgruppen is localized in inner city at Esplanaden in Copenhagen. From here can photographs and artists, for more than 30 years jump on their bike, and get negative developments and photographic copies from day to day.
In 1990 the then owners Caster Frederiksen and Hanne Segtwin, lets Poul Jan Petersen take over Colorgruppen.
Concurrently with the development in the photographic profession, and the opportunities constantly getting bigger and bigger, Colorgruppen moves towards a more present production. This comes to show in 1996 as they as the first in Denmark invest in a Durst Lambda 130, which can provide large size photo paper in high quality. (Read more about art print here. )
Almost at the same time Colorgruppen moves away from only handling art- and photo jobs, to provide a large selection of solutions addressed to the commercial market as well. Installation of Front Stands, manufacturing of duratrans plus print of banners in large size up to 250 cm in width, is now solutions Colorgruppen is providing. (Read more about commercial here.)
Poul Jan Petersen owns the company until he retires in 2001. Bjørn Barüske and Morten Larsen becomes new owners, they have both had a long career in Colorgruppen.
As a result of an increasing production the following years, the present owners Morten and Bjørn, decides to move Colorgruppen from Esplanaden to Hammerholmen in Hvidovre. In December 2009 begins the moving from inner Copenhagen to Hvidovre just outside Copenhagen. The 15 January 2010 is Colorgruppen ready to open at brand new facilities in Hvidovre. The new building holds 2500 square metre divided between to large rooms.
